Skagit county jail roster12/31/2023 If an inmate already has a book in the cell, the book will be stored in the inmate’s property until the inmate is ready to switch out the book. However, prior to sending a book, you may want to check with the inmate to be sure that they are ready to receive the book, as each inmate may only have one book in their cell at a time. Inmates at the Skagit County Community Justice Center can receive soft-cover paperback books mailed directly to them from Amazon and shipped via USPS, Fed-Ex, or UPS. However, inmates can receive some printed materials as long as they are not sent by private individuals. In addition, inmates cannot receive anything larger than a legal sized envelope. Inmates cannot receive material that has been printed off of the internet, pages from a book, coloring pages, word game pages, or other, similar printed materials. They cannot receive art supplies or writing supplies in the mail, though they can purchase them through the jail. Inmates cannot receive anything other than correspondence, checks, and pictures. Pictures must not have anything stuck to them, including tape or old glue. Inmates cannot receive any Polaroid or similar instant development type pictures. Inmates may not receive any pictures that are of a racist or inflammatory nature. Inmates may not receive pictures that portray gang signs or endorse gang affiliations. Inmates may not receive pictures of obscene or sexually explicit materials. ![]() However, the pictures must follow jail rules. Inmates are permitted to receive up to two pictures in each mailing. In addition, any greeting cards must be plain and cannot include anything extra, such as moving parts or electronics, including cards that play songs or make sounds. Inmates cannot receive anything that has additional substances, such as glitter, stickers, perfume, lipstick, or tape on it. In addition, you can send money to an inmate in the form of money orders or cashier’s checks, made out to Skagit County Jail. Those guidelines restrict mail to three basic items: letters, up to two photographs, and plain greeting cards. Inmates may receive mail at the Skagit County Jail, but all mail must comply with the jail’s guidelines.
